Einstürzende Neubauten is an ever-changing musical entity, originally formed in Berlin, Germany, on the 1st April 1980. Neubauten were initially seen as part of the second wave of industrial bands, filling the space left when Throbbing Gristle terminated their mission. Neubauten’s early output fit the term “industrial” well, as it (ab)used the sounds of machinery, metal-on-metal, construction-site equipment, and treated tape loops, creating harsh soundscapes and rhythmic textures reminiscent of krautrock.

The band was brought to life in early 1996, with a sound influenced by shoegaze and noise pop, recording some songs that were published in 1998 on the “Sol de hiel” ep. The idea behind Resplandor was to create an exciting music with different beats, feelings and textures. The band’s debut single “Ninfa” firmly established them on the music scene, receiving great reviews. Pan Sonic (known as Panasonic before legal issues took away the letter A) was two guys (Mika Vainio and Ilpo Väisänen) project from Finland, who started out with long-term, low-frequency, high-decibel experiments and organizing rave parties in the country where “hardly anything happens ever”. The minimalistic music of Pan Sonic is composed “from a forbidding array of pure tones, sinewaves, pulses, electronic squelches and ultrasonic waveforms,” and a humorous attitude, “skilfully arranged into an accessible rhythmic package” mainly taken from the bowels of custom-built sinewave generators.

Quix*O*Tic was a trio from Washington DC featuring Mick Barr on bass and sisters Mira & Christina Billotte on drums and guitars/vocals, respectively. They are generally lumped in with “indie rock”, however the group achieved a rather distinctive stripped-down sound. Most of the music consists of drums, bass and vocals - the guitar usually playing melodies that follow or harmonize with the bassline as opposed to a chordal backing. Formed in 1997, they released Night For Day (Ixor Stix, 2000) and Mortal Mirror (Kill Rock Stars, 2002), achieving on the latter an odd hybrid of Nico’s ghostly singing and Sleater-Kinney’s rabid roots-rock.

Evcan is a political prisoner in Turkey kept in high security solitary confinement prison. Due to his anarchist political and ethical convictions, Evcan became a vegan (strict vegetarian who avoids all animal products) eight years ago.Since the Turkish authorities do not respect his right to pursue a vegan diet, Evcan has been suffering from variety of health issues as he is not getting enough vegan food to eat and he is unable to pursue a balanced diet.In a letter he wrote from prison, Evcan mentions prison authorities giving him food in an unhygienic state and there have been instances where harmful additives and chemicals have been intentionally added to his food.In his last letter on the 6th of November 2011, Evcan added that on an arbitrary basis, prison officers have not being providing him with escorts, so that he misses medical appointments. Having already boycotted the prison food and managing by purchasing his own food at prison cafeteria, he says in his last letter that he needs to strengthen his attitude to be heard. The female-fronted noise poppers are certainly content to mine the depleted fields of shoegaze and twee indie sounds for inspiration. The group creates a maelstrom of melody out of both, with a layered, fuzzy approach that incorporates big, clean riffage, anonymous vocals hiding in the background, and a considerable churn across memorable four-minute pop songs.

The Radio Dept. is a Swedish pop band signed to Labrador Records. They have released three full length albums, and a series of singles and EPs. The band originated in Lund, Sweden.

In 1995, The Radio Dept. was formed by Elin Almered and Johan Duncanson (who were old school friends). The name was taken from a gas station/radio repair shop in Lund, Sweden, which had a large sign with the name Radioavdelningen, (“The Radio Department” in Swedish) hanging outside their shop.

The band name came from Nalens, who had been living in Glasgow, and Daniels kept it after Nalens left the project. Datahowler, born Ross Edman, is a musician, producer and graphic designer from Dallas, TX. At a young age Ross started training classically in percussive arts and drums eventually moving on to guitar, bass, keys, vocals, ethnic percussion, sequencers, DJing, etc. His history traverses many genres from touring in Hardcore outfits to Motown revival acts, to creating indie mash ups and making tripped out space beats. He is an original member of the Midwest hardcore act Decades (State Of Mind Records) and was the drummer for The Secret Handshake (Triple Crown) in 2010. He also was known as Objektiv One for many years.
